My Kitty

It's funny my kitty knows just how I feel.
When I'm Happy, he's zappy and full of appeal.
When I'm Sad, he's Bad, and flops down like a seal.
It's funny how my kitty knows just how I feel

Years

The road goes on forever.
As the years pass and go.
What is at the end of this year's road,
I do not know.
The year right now is passing.
A new year coming through.
What will happen next,
Is all up to you.

Beauty

The butterfly is a pretty thing;
With its delicate golden wing.
It is very nice to see,
And will flit about for you and me.

The Cardinal is a pretty bird;
It is such a delightful red.
It will sing so prettily,
And fly about my head.

The rose is such a lovely flower;
It will sit in a little bower.
It will smell so nice and sweet,
Upon the ground at my feet.

Each of these things are beautiful;
And each are so well done.
We thank the Lord for all of these,
For he made every one!

Cat

I shaved my cat today.
I hope he'll be okay.

The Very Fat Cat

There once was a very, fat cat.
Who wore a tuxedo and hat.
One day he fell down, from dancing around,
And came splat, on the place where he sat.

Letters

A letter to me?
Why, thank you!
Now I will send a letter,
Back to you.
Along the post it will  go.
How it goes, I don't know.

Christmas

Snowflakes  falling down.
Beauty all around.
Christmas tree, with leaves of green.
Presents that I have not yet seen.
Excitement in the air.
Happiness everywhere.
Christmas is ,
My favorite time of year!

A Riddle

In between  the earth and sky.
Steadfast I stand, instead of lie.
A triangle shape to call my own,
You will find me if you roam.
A beautiful sight for all to see.
When you see the majesty of me.

What am I?

Answer: A mountain

A prayer of thanksgiving

From towns and villages, blest,
We thank you God for all the rest.
For food and friendship,
For happiness and zest,
For everything on earth in it's simple nest,
We thank you God for all the rest.

Mistake

I made a horrible mistake.
A mistake lots of children make.
I ate the bottom of my ice cream cone,
Before the top.

The Forest

                                    A hare leaps by.
                                     I give a sigh.

                                    A doe with her fawn,
                                    Witness the dawn.

                                     A bird sings.
                                     With blue wings.

                                     In the forest I see,
                                   Animals playing happily.

Calm

                                 A gentle breeze.
                                 Sleepy willows bending down.
                                 Sun peeping through clouds.
                                 Calm

The Cypress Tree

The cypress tree stands tall.
And doesn't move at all.
It is steadfast and strong.
And lives for very long.

The cypress tree stands true.
And will not move to you.
It will not low-lie,
But reach up to the sky.

Scared at Night

If you go down the  lane tonight,
With a great big pumpkin moon.
When it's dark and creepy, without any light.
And the wind goes Hoooooooo

And the ghosts in your head go eeek!
And the shadows all come near.
In your throat, there's a coming shriek.
And your shaking all over with fear.

When you go back home to bed.
With a pillow to rest your head.
And everything is scary again.
Just remember,

It's all in your imaginative head.
Don't run screaming out of bed.
Just remember what I said.
It's probably something you read.

The World of Blue

I would like to travel the world.
A spinning globe of blue.
Seeing people, having adventures,
An airplane would do.

But I am stuck at home.
Untill I am grown.
With an imagination.
And an atlas.
About the world of blue.

Through the Looking Glass

Through the looking-glass,
I see myself,
Like Alice in Wonderland.
The looking-glass of shining similarity.
You see I, I see me.

Simultaneously,
We walk,
Side by side.
No need to talk.
We have nothing to hide.

I, myself, and me.
Till a hand I reach,
Into the water,
To touch my identical twin.
But she disappears,
Into the water,
Leaving ripples.

Bob

There was once a young boy named Bob,
Who liked to eat corn on the cob.
One day it was all eaten, by his brother, Keaton,
At this, Bob gave a loud sob.

Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin Pie

Orangey-yellow.
Warm and good.
Pumpkin pie is,
My favorite food.
Yellow as the harvest moon.
Golden as the sun.
Served with tasty  whipped cream,
Enough for every one.

Fall

Fall is a time of bounty.
A time of plentifullness.
A time of beauty.
A time of harvest.
And a time of rest.
Animals getting ready,
For they're long winter's rest.
Thanksgiving turkey is the best.
Halloween candy, oh so sweet.
Harvesting food so we can eat.
Golden leaves, falling down.
Piles of them, all around.
And when winter comes again,
We're snug and cozy like we've always been.

Autumn

Autumn is nice.
Turkey and pumpkin pie.
Halloween candy.
Yum yum.

Everywhere with books

Books can take you anywhere.
From sitting in the parlor chair,
To over hill and underhill.
Across the plains and over the till.
To magical worlds and there and back.
There is nothing that you would lack.
Flying over London Bridge.
Conversing with a talking midge.
From cats and bats and talking rats.
To lava fire on forsaken isles,
Books can take you many miles.
Twisting and turning, leaping and churning.
Surprise twists and lovers' trysts.

Makes you really think.
Into your mind it will sink.
It will make you cry, or laugh.
Books are amazing.

Fall leaves

Leaves on the ground.
Beauty all around.
A great display of colors, red and gold.
Amazing to behold.

The Bum and Rear of Two at the Zoo

The rear of a rhinoceros.
Is very enormaceros.
Very disgustingoceros.
Is the rear of a rhinoceros.

  The bum of  a  crocodile,
Is very gross and very vile.
It drags on the mud of the Nile.
 The bum of a crocodile.

Naughty Eloise

"Eloise, please!"
 Her mother said.
Eloise was jumping on the bed.
 Eloise was naughty,
 Eloise was spoiled.
 The Cat, she baldened,
 The chair she soiled.
 The dreadful girl,
 Had a curl.
In the middle of her forehead.
 She was rarely ever good.
 In fact she was horrid.
One day her parents were not there.
She sat defiantly on the chair.
 A lion came along.
 Did not think it wrong,
Swallowing her right then and there
She was rescued, and was just fine.
But she was scared of lions until she was nine.

Books

A book opens up.
An adventure awaits!
So come on me hearties,
Come on my mates!
Reading can,magically,
Take you where you want to be.
It takes you up and down the stairs.
And underneath the parlor chairs.
The only way to get inside,
Is open the book.
Come on and try it!
Believe me, you won't denie it.
You can be anywhere, it's true.
'Cause the only one to decide is you!

Tightrope

On a large rope, teetering.
The wind blowing by.
A man walks across the grand canyon.
A rope in the sky.
Oh no!
Will he fall?
He got to the other side!
Yea!
(I knew he could do it.)

Rockabye Baby

Rockabye, Baby.
Safe in my hands.
You are more precious.
Than all the jewels in all the lands.
Go to sleep now.
I love you.
So rockabye, Baby.
God loves you too!

Window

As I look out my window, happily,
These are the people that I see.
A groggy jogger jogging away,
An old lady with a parasol.
A sign saying "Sale Today!"
A bright red car saying"Sold."
These are the people that I see,
As I look out my window happily.

Seasons

These are the seasons.
They always have reasons.
Spring is when babies are born.
Summer is when you plant your corn.
Fall is when Thanksgiving is, you know.
And Winter brings cold and snow.
Four little seasons,
Now I've shown you their reasons.

Caroline

  Caroline, liked  to dine.
She would eat, sweets and meat.
She got fat, fatter than the cat.
  "Boy, that Caroline would dine!"
Her brothers would like to say.
   For, every day without fail,
She would dine on bon-bons and quail.
She would not eat, veggies and beets.
She would only eat sweet meats.
Till one day, she grew ill.
Instead of giving her a pill,
   The Doctor told her,
"Eat more beets and eat less sweets!
So, Caroline grew healthy, no longer sick.

   For now, nutrition is what,
   She will always pick!

Sand dollars Look Like Money

Sand dollars look like money.
Except they have no shine.
Rubies look like big cherries.
On which I like to dine.
Mud looks like chocolate cake.
Except that it is dirty.
Beetles look like gems.
Except they go up my shirty.

Beach Haiku

Waves wafting like hands.
Beckoning me to come.
I lie back and splash.

Alligator

Mouth open wide.
Long scaily back.
Tail longer than me.

Cake.

Delicious slice of cake.
Crumbs sliding down,
A blue tablecloth.
Sticky fingers.
Sticky mouth.
Full stomach

Melting Ice cream

Melting,sticky ice cream.
Sliding down my arm.
I lap it up like a dog.
On a hot, summer's day.

Flower

There was a little flower.
In a little bower.
It grew big and pretty.
It was loved by everyone, even the kitty.
More flowers grew.
And everyone was happy.

Counting Baby

One, two, three.
Counts the baby.
Four five six.
A lollypop is what she licks.
Five, six, seven.
She looks up at heaven.
Eight, nine, ten.
Let's count again!

Eden

Silvery, slithely,
Slithering snake.
Hissed,"Eat it!"
She walked to the tree.
Evil the snake would make.
She plucked the fruit,
Don't eat it,
Oh no!
He ate it too!
So God banished them.
But.
A whispered promise.
"I will come back for you."
One day, many centuries later,
In a tumble-down stable,
Their rescue came.
A baby.

Koalas

The koala looks like a bear.
I do not care.
That it is actually a marsupial.
They are cute.
A baby one could fit inside my boot.
They eat eucalyptus leaves.
They live in the trees.

Sunset

When the sky is cast in golden.
When there's light upon the stair.
And our hearts begin to bolden.
Over things that are not there.
When the clouds are cast in rose.
I feel the need to speak in prose.
And when the sun shines over the plain.
Shedding golden drops of rain.
And when Mother calls us in.
From the place where we've been.
When the sky is cast in shadow.
When there's black upon the stair.
We go to sleep wondering.
About the gold that was there.

The sea

Rolling and crashing.
Upon the sand.
Rolling and crashing.
Upon my hand.
When I am in the water,
I feel as free as a bird.
Flying in the sky.
The salty wind wathing,
Past his powerful wings.
The salty sea, swathing,
Past the wake in the wind.

The Ostrich

The ostrich is a funny bird.
He has so little brain.
All he will do is stand and stare.
If he gets caught in the rain.

Baby Ducks

All the little ducks  go quack, quack, quack.
Each with his feathers like a little brown pack.
Mother duck guides the little things.
When they eat, their beaks make pings.
They are so cute, I would give a hoot.
To pick them up and hug them!

Imaginating creatures

O, the world is full of imagination.
Yes, the world is full of sensation.
Like, the Quild, has 100 toes.
Three eyes and a ring on his nose.
Or the zoop-zoop.
I must say,
For many a day he has splayed.
His limbs to extremities.
He calls it "Limbities".
The whateoop, the dreadful beast,
Has 5 million teeth.
At least.
Or the larm.
Has no end of charm.
She is beautiful,
Wonderful,
But alas, she is blunderful.
I am afraid, these things are not real.
So, let's imaginate them in zeal.

Smile

You don't have to change the world.
You don't have to save the world.
All you have to do is smile.
For a while.
Give a pep talk.
Take a little walk.
Just smile

The Song.

I can hear it in the setting sun.
I can hear it when the horses run.
I can hear it in the crashing waves.
I can hear it when the lion roars.
I can hear it in the breath of angels.
I can hear it when the cheetah leaps.
I can hear it when the butterfly emerges.
I can hear it when the child sleeps.
Whirling, crashing, booming, slashing.
Singing prolonged,
A beautiful song.
As soft as a breath of air.
So loud it's everywhere.
An aurora borialis, shining bright.
Sparkling stars of the night.
A song of loud, unending power.
A song as beautiful as a flower.
A song that is wonderful, wonderful peace:
"God made us all and he is pleased!"

Rose in the brush

You.
Are like a rose in the brush.
Don't rush.
A flower in the palm of my hand.
Like a rare beauty.
Like a star in the sand.
Every thing will be fine.
Like the song of a sparrow.
Myriads of love.
For you.
Have peace.
Like the calm seas.

Chickens

A chicken is a funny bird.
It is a palish brown.
People sell them at the town.
Baby chicks are so  cute.
Then they grow as tall as your boot.
They lay eggs.
We eat eggs.
The chicks look cute under their wing.
That is what they bring.
I like chickens.

Watch Out!

A slithering, slithering snake.
Slithering beside a lake.
It is poisonous.
Red stripe, and yellow.
Could hurt this fellow.
When you see this,
Run away!
Come there another day.

Sheep

White sheep, black sheep.
They don't moo.
They don't peep.
As fluffy as cotton.
As cute as a button.
Not very smart.
At all.
Would be scared.
Of a ball.
But,
They are still very cute.

Monday, February 18, 2013

The sun.

The sun is like a drop of gold.
A very old, drop of gold.
Or a face.
Of a fairy queen.
That nobody has ever seen.

The moon is like a boat.

The moon is like a little boat.
Sailing off to sea.
It has no sail or rudder.
And only one sailor: me.
It is made out of lovely pearls.
I steer it around the swirls.
The stars are swishing fish.
Everything is hoverly,
Everything is loverly.
Goodnight.

Fairies.

The fairies are lovely.
With the lily as their queen.
Their eyes are very keen.
They are rarely seen.
They nibble at berries.
They sip at dew.
And, maybe they might come to you.

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

storm

The waves grew choppy.
The wind blew.
As I held close to you.
The ship creaked.
It broke in half.
"Help!" I cried.
The wind sighed.
Then gathered me up,
Like a cup.
Then I heared, "Cast off!"
Then, I realized,
It had been a dream!

An Insparational Poem.

Shine, bright.
Like a star in the night.
Like a flower in the desert,
Like a diamond in the rough.
Bloom big.
Love a lot.
You can do it,
Yes you can.
Be unique.
I love you.

Longhorn

A longhorn went to check on his corn.
Halfway there, his kid was born.
When he got back home, his kid was 45,
And his grandchildren were doing a jive.
His wife was sing'n in the hevenly choir,
And he was so surprised, he fell into a briar.
Then he woke up.

Dawn

It is no longer night.
The ground is dappled with light.
Rabbits come out and stare at you,
Birds sing,"twit-twoo!"
Leaves shine like fairy rings.
Flowers sparkle like robes of kings.
The creek is gentle and calm,
Its waters are as soft as balm.
The bobcat purrs, a nice soft sound.
The breeze moves along the ground.
Out of the trees comes a little fawn.
It is dawn.

A poem.

I sit at my table.
No poem.
I think as much as I am able.
No poem.
I howl and cry.
No poem.
Mom passes by.
No poem.
I mope and whine.
No poem.
To pass the time.
No poem.
I moan and groan.
No poem.
My sister asks for a loan.
No poem.
My teacher will be mad.
No poem.
I will be sad.
Suddenly,
A poem!
